The third international scientific conference Mediterranean Island Conference (MIC-Vis 2020) will be held on the island of Vis from 16 to 19 September, this time jointly organized by the Ivo Pilar Institute of Social Sciences, Euro-Mediterranean Academic Network (EMAN) and VERN ', and under the auspices of the City of Vis and with the support of the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović.
In accordance with the prescribed epidemiological measures, the conference will be physically attended by a small number of scientists and experts, while others will follow the conference and hold their presentations online.
More than 100 scientific papers were submitted to the conference. Presentations will be given by 100 scientists and experts from 15 countries through panel discussions and independent presentations. This year's plenary speaker is Dr Charles Farrugia, PhD, professor at the Faculty of Media Sciences, University of Malta.
The aim of the MIC-Vis conference is to encourage the exchange of opinions, dialogue and applicable scientific research in order to find solutions for the sustainable development of Mediterranean islands through 18 thematic units: architecture, demography, geography, public services, culture and tradition, media and communication, migration, renewable energy sources, education, sustainable development, underwater and biology, agriculture and fisheries, business and economy, history, security, sports, tourism, arts and literature.
