VERN ’University organized for the students the first discussion of candidates for the mayor of the City of Zagreb after the Government of the Republic of Croatia called local elections.
All Croatian citizens were able to follow the debate via live stream.
Davor Filipović (candidate of the Croatian Democratic Union), Joško Klisović (candidate of the Social Democratic Party), Vesna Škare Ožbolt (independent candidate), and Tomislav Tomašević (candidate of the We Can! Platform) took part in the discussion.
They were all welcomed by prof. Vlatko Cvrtila Ph.D., Rector of VERN ’University.
The main points of the debate were: How can the City of Zagreb help young people get work experience?
What specific things should the City of Zagreb do for young people?
What must change in the system of reconstruction after the earthquake?
How do you travel around Zagreb and what kind of traffic do you see in the future?
How can the City help its poorest residents?
Will young people will go to the polls?
All these questions and many more asked by VERN’ students were answered by the candidates.
