Karlo Gagulić is the director and screenwriter of the film, which will be shown for the first time at an international festival where he will compete for an international award.

Karlo Gagulić, a first-year undergraduate student of Film, Television, and Multimedia Design at VERN’ University, could not have wished for a more successful premiere - his debut entitled A School That Does Not Exist will be premiered at the 13th Sarajevo Youth Film Festival .

"The script was written at Vinko Brešan's class, who is a famous Croatian film director. He gave us the first task to write a script, and at the same time, it had to be part of our autobiography. Since I had an interesting high school experience, it turned out that I went to a school that went bankrupt, which we found out from television news, I decided to show this grotesque in a film, to which I added a little finesse, " explained Karlo.

He quickly assembled a team, they auditioned and went to work, and now there’s a film competig for the top prize at an international festival.

"Honestly, the award is not so important to me, it is more important to travel with the film and show the audience what we have produced. I am very grateful to all the people on the set, the producers, the technicians, the actors, VERN’ University for providing me with the equipment, the Blank Association that also helped us with the equipment, the many sponsors who made sure we weren't hungry and thirsty on the set, etc. By the way, my first feature film A Boat in a Bottle, which I made for the admission exam for VERN, also passed on this festival and is competing for an award, so this year I'm going to Sarajevo with two of my films. "

Karlo is the main screenwriter and director of this film, while the other roles went to Kaja Šišmanović (assistant director), Nina Kukec (producer), Karlo Špoljar (director of photography), Rene Recek (camera assistant), Jura Režić (camera assistant and gaffer) and Luka Vukorepi (additional illuminator).
