Course objectives
Introduce students to the basic concepts of financial accounting and use of accounting information in making business decisions. Acquire the basic concepts and categories of accounting, master the basics, concepts and techniques applied in the analysis and records of business events as well as preparing financial statements. Understand and interpret the information in the financial statements, and acquire basic knowledge needed in related disciplines. Apply the acquired knowledge to other areas of expertise and disciplines.

Expected learning outcomes
Having successfully completed the course, the students will be able to:
Describe the concept, importance and role of accounting as an information tool.
Explain the bookkeeping process as the foundation of financial accounting.
Apply the fundamental concepts and categories of accounting.
Use the basic concepts and techniques in the record of business events.
Use different methods in preparing of the financial statements.
Interpret the information derived from the financial statements.
Explain the regulatory and conceptual framework of accounting.
Apply different methods in the analysis of financial statements.

Fundamentals of Management

Course objectives
Introduce students to the basic terms in management, its historical development and the development of basic managerial functions; Discuss relevant issues of modern management, which will enable students to identify and overcome existing and potential problems that managers encounter when making decisions in changing business environment. Provide the understanding of relationships among key managerial functions.

Expected learning outcomes
Having successfully completed the course, the students will be able to:
Explain the basic terms of management, historical development of management and its impact on the company and the business environment.
Analyse the internal and external factors managers face in the changing business environment.
Discuss the importance of organizational culture, social responsibility and managerial ethics.
Describe the nature, purpose and process of planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling.
Use phases of integrated decision-making process for high quality management decision-making.

Essentials of Business Finances

Course objectives
Provide basic knowledge and skills necessary for the use of basic concepts, principles, criteria, rules, methods, procedures and techniques relevant for making rational financial decisions on investments, financing and managing the assets of companies. Refer students to the necessity of identifying changes in the environment and within the enterprise, so as to make appropriate adjustments in the implementation of financial policies. Acquire competences necessary for completing professional tasks in the context of the financial functions of the company.

Having successfully completed the course, the students will be able to:
Explain the basic concepts, methods, techniques, principles, rules and objectives of enterprise finances.
Show the structure and function of the financial system as a financial environment of enterprises.
Apply the concept of time value of money on all financial assets and liabilities of the company.
Assess the risk, the yield investments in equity and debt securities and the profitability of investments in projects.
Select a source of financing enterprises according to the financing cost criteria.
Apply the basic current assets management methods.
Carry out basic calculations of the effects of doing business in an international environment.
Calculate and interpret basic indicators of financial analysis and explain the budgeting process.

Foreign Language Italian 1

Course objectives
The course objective is to provide basic knowledge, vocabulary and structures necessary to understand basic concepts in tourism industry in Italian language. The course will enable students to communicate with Italian speaking visitors at the basic level in Italian language in the hospitality and hotel industry environment. Furthermore, it will develop linguistic skills (speaking, reading with comprehension, listening, writing) as well as fluency and accuracy at the A2 level according to the CEFR.

Expected learning outcomes
Having successfully completed the course, the students will be able to:
Define the most important basic concepts and trends in tourism.
Describe the activities and most important occupations related to tourism.
Identify the most important basic reasons for travel.
Describe the basic features of different means of transport.
Display specific travel arrangements through travel agents and different types of travel.
Apply in the appropriate situation the basic terms related to the stay of tourists in the destination.
Use in an appropriate manner the most important terms and vocabulary relating to the organization and preparation of tourist trips.
Demonstrate general language competence at level a1 or a2 of the common european framework of reference for languages (cefr) in italian language.

Foreign Language German 1

Course objectives
The course objective is to provide basic vocabulary and structures necessary to understand basic concepts in tourism industry in German language. The course will enable students to communicate with German speaking visitors at the basic level of German in tourism and hospitality industry environment. Furthermore, it will develop linguistic skills (speaking, reading with comprehension, listening, writing) as well as fluency and accuracy at the A2 level according to the CEFR.

Having successfully completed the course, the students will be able to:
Define the most important basic concepts and trends in tourism.
Describe the activities and most important occupations related to tourism occupations and jobs.
Describe the main knowledge and skills required for particular occupations and jobs.
Write a CV and a Cover letter.
Identify the most important reasons for travel.
Apply the basic terms related to the stay of tourists in the destination.
Use in an appropriate manner the key vocabulary needed when organising and preparing tourist trips.
Demonstrate general language competence at level A1 or A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in German language.

Commercial Law

Course objectives
The objectives of this one-semester interactive course are focused on providing insight into particular legal areas of commercial/corporate law. The course includes legal concepts, institutes, and standards required as the theoretical and practical basis for understanding the most important areas of commercial law.

Having successfully completed the course, the students will be able to:
Explain legal forms of business (companies and sole trade).
Explain the most important contracts in commercial law.
Explain the basic types of securities.

Business Ethics and Entrepreneurial Culture

Course objectives
Business Ethics and Culture Course primary objectives are to: Introduce the concept of business ethics in resolving moral issues in business; Use analytical skills when applying the concept of business ethics in business decisions; Identify ethical/moral issues involved in business problem management; Process business cases related to current ethical/moral issues that arise in business; Integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept into the core business.

Expected learning outcomes
Having successfully completed the course, the students will be able to:
Recognize the fundamental theories of business ethics, describe their features, and provide the arguments for the need to study business ethics and its application in different situations.
Recognize the different influences that shape our value systems and relate them to exemplary situations.
Identify stakeholders and explain the ethical dilemma in business at the individual, organizational and societal level.
Analyse cases by using the chosen ethical decision-making method, link the answers to three ethical questions and explain the chosen solution.
Discuss ethical issues in a business environment involving employees, and customers as well as design and write a code of ethics.
Recognize ethical issues in different business situations das well as devise and recommend the most appropriate scenarios of corporate social responsibility.
Select the appropriate business ethics topic, process it by integrating analysis tools, describe an ethics case and present the conclusions.
